Progress shot number 7, and the locks have finally been finished. Then again, it only took two days to get this far. I'm really into this painting, and having loads of fun painting it.
In the end I wound up mixing a lighter shade of the brown-red and then painting the medium shade over gold and copper to get other shades so it would come out correctly. And I really like the finished product of the locks.
This looks like it's going to be awesome when complete! :-D I like the stylized feel to it, too. ^_^

Thanks!
Yeah, I had fun picking out the colors on this one. I already used other shades of the background colors for a different piece, but I modified them a bit because they were a tad too bright. I really like the way they turned out. And metalic paints are fun to use.
Everything should hopefully come together when I'm finished.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

There must be more than this provincial life!
It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to respond...that was rhetorical.
I'm having way fun on this project. I almost don't want to finish it. Modeling paste is so much fun to work with.
And you can thank my Ceres artbook for a bit of inspiration on the style for this one. See, I knew that book would come in handy some time.
